MARCH IS READING MONTH!
Hey Everyone! Sooooo...in case you weren't aware, MARCH is READING MONTH! I have been lucky enough to be a guest reader at several schools in the area, including Stuckey in Redford, Beech Elementary in Redford and Cooper Upper Elementary in Livonia. I read excerpts from my new YA novel, "RUBY BLUE" to several classes and had a very warm welcome from all of the students and staff at each school. I absolutely loved answering all of their many, many questions! If you're interested in having me come read to students at your school and answer questions about the writing process, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Don't forget to check out the RUBY BLUE tab above.

Nobody Speaks.
UPDATED SEPTEMBER 24, 2011: Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my site. I'm sorry I haven't been able to blog as often as I'd like, but I did just post an updated one this week, so please check it out if you haven't already. Boy, have I got a lot to tell you about! This past summer has been a busy one. I was honored, yet again, to speak at another TOPS Group in Chesterfield Township and was welcomed with a very warm reception. Hopefully, I was able to inspire some people to keep going in their journey to healthier living. I have also been working on my paintings and have posted several new pieces under the Art & Stuff tab. I've got a few more in development and will be posting those soon. I hope to announce news of some upcoming art shows, so stay tuned for that. Finally, I'm really excited to let you know about a new YA fiction series I am working on. I have completed the first two books in the series, and both are now currently in the editing stage. This project is very dear to my heart, as it's been an idea I've had mulling around in my head for about six years. Written with young people in mind, it's a fun read that many adults will find enjoying as well. (Especially if you love chick-lit or paranormal books...) Along with that, I am developing a new website where I will have all of the information about my books, blogs, and art in one spot. I can't wait for you all to see it! There's going to be some fun stuff happening there! Please feel free to leave me a comment under any one of my blogs, or stop by the LEAVE COMMENTS tab and send me a message there. (*All of your personal information is kept private and never sold. I also only send out updates via email when I post a new blog...so don't worry about getting any junk mail.) Don't forget - you can subscribe to my blog by clicking the RSS Feed button on the sidebar of the BLOG tab. Have a great weekend!
UPDATED JUNE 29, 2011: I had the honor and pleasure of speaking to a great group of people last night at TOPS in Warren. I was asked to talk about my story, my weight-loss and my venture into running. I was very warmly received and loved the opportunity to share my story with this great group of individuals. I wish you all success in your future endeavors and hope to see you all again soon! Remember, it's about enjoying things one day at time, making one good choice at a time and celebrating every success you have! The road is long, but the rewards are worth it! Eventually, all of your hard will pay off.
UPDATED JUNE 5, 2011: Well, I did it. I had my first official speaking engagement. I had the honor of talking to two of the third grade classes at Stuckey Elementary School in Redford about the writing process. I think it went fairly well...especially because I came bearing gifts! After all, every young, aspiring author needs a purple gel pen and scratch-pad of paper to jot down all of their story ideas...right? Yeah. I thought so too. And the kids absolutely loved them! After telling them about the process I went through writing my story and the steps I'm doing to work towards getting published, the floor was opened up for some Q & A. The teachers must have liked me, because I was invited back for next year! (Yay!!!) I look forward to future engagements and I especially look forward to some publisher snatching up this literary gem...

An Adventure with Fitness Trainer Extraordinaire Larry North
UPDATED APRIL 16, 2011: Hi everyone! Just had to pass along some fun news...One of my fitness heroes, Larry North, read my blog! Larry North is not only a trainer, motivational speaker and author, but is also the creator of the 21-Day Slimdown Plan. It's a genius method for losing weight -- the healthy way -- and maintaining your goals. His easy-going, no pressure, reaffirming program emphasizes reducing unhealthy foods, instead of eliminating entire food groups from your diet, along with mild, no-stress exercise. If you are considering a healthier life-style, please look him up online at: http://larrynorth.com, on Twitter at LarryNorthGym, or on Facebook. Larry was ultra-enthusiastic and supportive and seemed to genuinely enjoy reading about my Martian Adventure. He even offered to write something for my blog! He is a wealth of knowledge and a fitness guru ...Let's hope I can get him on here as a special guest one week. Stay tuned for further updates.
